Home Program Erasmus Neighborhood Federation Home Rehab Program is administered by the New York State Housing Trust Fund Corporation (NYS HTFC) through the Division of Housing and Community Renewal. The objective of the Home Rehab Program is to renovate one and two family homes, cooperatives and condominiums. ENF’s Home Rehab Program is allocated to low-income to moderate-income Brooklyn residents, senior citizens, veterans, disabled persons, mentally challenged, first time home buyers and existing homeowners. The program will provide for renovation in any area of the home that requires it. In addition to general renovation of the property, the program will also weatherize energy inefficient homes. The weatherization component includes: heating system replacement or upgrade, insulation air-loss seal-up work, window repair or replacement, health and safety measures, including testing for carbon monoxide and gas leak and installation of energy-saving light bulbs. The maximum grant awarded per home is $25,000 for single family, cooperatives and condominiums and $50,000 for two family homes. All renovation and/or weatherization will be in full compliance with New York City Building and Environmental Codes. ENF’s Home Rehab Program operates on a first come first served basis, however, after we have received our first twenty eligible candidates, the remaining applicants are placed on a waiting list. After renovation is completed, homeowners are required to reside in the homes for a regulatory period of ten years. If the homeowner decides to sell their home before the end of the regulatory period, he/she will have to repay a percentage of the awarded grant. Eligibility Requirements
